Karate
What is Karate?
The modern science of karate is system of self defence techniques based on efficient movement and biodynamics. The goal of a karate practitioner is to deliver the maximum amount of force they physically can while expending as little energy as possible.
It is also a traditional art that encompasses mind, body, and spirit working in harmony not only in a self defence situation but throughout a practitioners entire life both inside and outside the dojo.
What we practice
Karate Do (Way of the Empty Hand), encompasses both standing and ground defense techniques including strikes, kicks, sweeps, and blocking. We also practice pressure point tactics, muscle disfunction points, joint locks, and pain compliance control techniques.

These include the Bo Staff, Tonfa, Sai, Tanto, and Tanbo to name a few. Weapons are an extension of the body and as such are introduced as a student progresses in their empty hand practice.
